NYC Privacy Counsel (In-House, Direct Hire)

Bliss Lawyers is seeking a privacy attorney to work in the New York City office of a global technology company. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience with privacy and data-protection matters, including US, EU, APAC, and Latin American data protection laws and regulations. Strong commercial contracts experience is required. Experience with and strong working knowledge of software services' platforms, digital marketing, and IP licensing is strongly preferred. A New York bar admission is required.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for: ensuring compliance with privacy and data protection laws; advising the general counsel, senior leadership, and various business units regarding global data protection and privacy compliance; reviewing, drafting, and negotiating privacy and data protection commercial contract terms with customers and vendors; identifying ongoing risks and requirements resulting from new and evolving privacy laws; advising on notification and other obligations in connection with security/privacy incidents and incident response programs; collaborating closely with data policy and governance team on privacy-related matters; managing and maximizing value of outside counsel; and providing general legal support as needed.

This is a full-time, permanent role as Privacy Counsel that will report to the General Counsel. Compensation is competitive, with benefits.
